A Long Forgotten Message

from Rat Patrol by Rat Patrol

/

lyrics

Late one night he went to a gig and the band it played so loud. All he could see was the singers head cause he got caught up in the crowd. Suddenly his face grew pale cause the singer yelled ‘ hail to the national front’. The gig became a nightmare, nobody noticed, the all had fun upfront. An early punkrock band warned us all that blind acceptance is a crime. A long forgotten message, today most people just want to have a good time. Left wing, right wing, racist, fascist, these things don’t seem to matter no more. If it’s peace you want or downright violence, the crowd just keeps asking for more. The attitude of most rockbands gets washed away by their music – Stiff Little Fingers on MTV should be enough to make you punke. Bands that call themselves cross-over are just into making money. I won’t deny them the right to do so, but to me, it just ain’t funny – since the people who buy their records are no longer able to criticize. The more the ‘stars’ start to smell like shit, the more the crowd behave like flies (Lyrics: Roelsel/Music: Jansel/Rat Patrol)
